Sergeant Walter Searcy served in the U.S. Air Force for four years in the Combat Field Maintenance Squadron as an Electrical Repairment Specialist.
He graduated Cum Laude with an associated degree in Psychology and Sociology, and cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and History from Buffalo State University. He holds a degree in Theology.
In 1975, he moved to Atlanta and volunteered at the Ben Hill Recreation Center. In 1983, he began working at the U.S. Post Office where he retired in 2005.
He is a Lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) and a member of the American Legions for 46 years. Hs is an ordained minister and a member of the Word of Faith Family Worship Cathedral. He ministers in both the Prison Ministry and the Altar Workers and Intercessory Ministry.
He enjoys helping veterans with their disability claims and joined the post to serve veterans and the community.
