Sergeant Tanya James served in the U.S. Air Force for four years as an Engineering Assistant. Tanya is an avid learner, so while in the Air Force, she attended Belleville Community College to continue her education. After her honorable discharge, she worked for King County Metro and Seattle Public Utilities as an Engineering Assistant and GIS Coordinator.
She and her family later moved to Portland, Oregon where she worked in the Portland Public Schools District as a Technology Coordinator for over four years. They soon relocated to the Metro Atlanta area where she worked as a Graphic Designer for the Technical College System of Georgia. As she continued to pursue her education, she earned degrees in Business Administration, Visual Communications and a Masters of Science in Organizational Development. Tanya currently works as an Instructional Designer/eLearning Developer responsible for the design and development of eLearning courses for manufacturing training promoting economic development initiatives throughout the State of Georgia.
She enjoys spending time with her husband, 2 sons and 4 grandchildren. She loves watching action movies, listening to music, cooking and eating good food. She also loves learning new things, so you will often find her looking for ways to innovate to the next level.
Tanya joined Post 9-1-1 in 2022 to help out in areas needed. She worked on re-branding the post and soon inherited the task of redesigning the website.
