National Buffalo Soldiers Day is celebrated on July 28th to honor the African American soldiers who served in the U.S. Army after the Civil War. These soldiers, known as Buffalo Soldiers, served with distinction in the American West and in various conflicts, including the Spanish-American War and World War I.
